LOU MONO
A fresh, straight stylish bob that falls just above the shoulders featuring a side parting and a sweeping side fringe for effortless elegance and movement.
A monofilament top is a luxury feature where the entire top of the wig from the front hairline, to the crown is made from a soft, sheer mesh. Each strand of hair is hand-tied to this mesh, giving the appearance of natural hair growth and a realistic scalp look across the top. It also allows you to part the hair in different directions, whether you prefer a centre or side part. Lightweight and breathable, it’s a comfortable choice, especially for sensitive scalps or those experiencing hair loss. The result is a natural-looking, versatile style that feels as good as it looks.
Styling
Only use heat styling tools if your wig or hairpiece is labelled as heat resistant. Always use a heat protectant spray. Avoid products containing alcohol as this can dry out the hair.
Maintenance
- Wash your wig only when necessary, typically every 10-15 wears unless it is particularly dirty. Over washing can strip hair of natural oils and cause it to dry out.
- Use protective products such as leave-in conditioner or hair serum to keep wig shiny and moisturised.
- Condition regularly to maintain softness and manageability. Deep condition every few months to restore moisture.
- To avoid fibre friction avoid contact with synthetic clothing whilst wearing the wig.
Wash/Condition
- Gently brush out any tangles before washing. Start from the ends and work your way up to the roots. Avoid washing wigs or hair pieces while tangled, as it can make them hard or impossible to comb later. Brush only when the wig is dry.
- Fill a bowl with lukewarm water (avoid hot water, as it can cause damage to the wig). Add shampoo to the water and create a lather. For human hair wigs we recommend a sulphate-free shampoo designed for wigs. Soak the wig for 5 minutes to loosen debris, then gently wash it like delicate fabric. Handle gently and avoid vigorous rubbing. If needed, repeat the wash.
- Rinse with cold water until all shampoo is removed. Always rinse from roots to ends, using only cold or lukewarm water.
- Apply the conditioner from mid-length to the ends of the wig. Avoid applying conditioner directly to the roots to prevent loosening the knots. Depending on the product, either leave the conditioner on for a few minutes and rinse, or use a leave-in conditioner for added moisture and protection.
- Do not wring, blot dry with a clean towel and place the wig on a stand to air dry at room temperature. Keep away from heat sources. Comb and restyle if required.
